Children’s Creative calendar
Children’s Creative Calendar is a socially engaged campaign addressing barriers to children’s access to creative opportunities in Dublin’s Liberties, an area affected by socioeconomic disadvantage and limited access to arts activities.
I volunteer in the youth work organisation ‘Solas Project’, and I noticed a lot of children say that they aren’t able to make art. After interviewing staff and parents, I found that the perceived cost of creative events was a barrier for families.
To solve this, I created an interactive website where families can navigate a map of free creative events in the city for their kids, giving them the opportunity to access events they wouldn’t otherwise know about. A community platform connects parents and artists, to encourage support, and teamwork to create more creative events. The campaign aims to make creative opportunities more accessible for children, through a strong and comprehensive visual identity.
